Optymize !

Optymize is a direction calculator webservice for the Belfort buses service in France.

Optymize is a final year project ran by Rémy Hubscher & Julien Moine for their Postgraduation in Computer Science in the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard

We chose to program Optymize to learn Android and web service development with the aim to improve the way of using Optymo in Belfort for a tourist or a new student that does not have yet a full Belfort map in mind and still wants to take the bus.

The backend API and the administration of the webservice are run using Python/Django, the frontend for Android is developed using Java and the Android SDK.

• A buses stops map
  You can see on a google maps the buses routes and stops.
• A buying ticket service
  In one click, you can buy your ticket and receive it by SMS.
• A directions service
  From one station to another, you can ask for the fastest way, get it on the map and follow text instructions.

• Scalable
  You can adapt it for any other city in the world by changing the webservice address.
• Multilingual
  Optymize already exists in French and English, but you can add any other languages.
• OpenSource
  Optymize is an university project, you can help us to improve it.
